Nesit’s Covid-19 Ear Saver Production
A local nurse reached out to NESIT this past week asking us to 3D print some ear savers. Ear savers are devices that take the strain caused by wearing a mask off an individual’s ears. After proving the concept, we began to laser cut sheets of ear savers. Both of our laser cutters have been running long days cutting out thousands of ear savers to be donated to hospitals throughout Connecticut. As of writing this on April 13th, NESIT has donated over 2500 ear savers to 12 hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare facilities, and are continuing to make as many as we can.

Pictures from the open house Maker Monday that was 10/03/2016.
As it turns out old sledgehammer heads can be re-made with new fiberglass handles and a bit of elbow grease. The public computer workstations are well underway. And pegboard organization is looking better thanks to the Deltabot printer which can print PLA sturdily enough to create pegboard holders.
