Introduction to Mechanical Engineering Class on April 12th @ NESIT Meriden Connecticut

NESIT member Dave R. will be going over the steps entailed in becoming a Mechanical Engineer.  This class is free to the public. He’ll be focusing on:

  • How does a Wind Turbine Work?
  • What college classes does a student typically take to get a degree in Mechanical Engineering?
  • “At your first job”… What is an example of a calculation and design task that an entry-level mechanical engineer would be expected to perform?

Of interest to Boy Scouts we will cover the requirements for Engineering Merit Badges 4 and 8 and part of Energy Merit Badge 7’s requirements.

Wednesday NESIT Open House

On Wednesday NESIT holds a Maker open house for the public to come in and collaborate at NESIT Makerspace, 290 Pratt St. Meriden, CT.

Wednesday Open House for February 22nd, 2017

Get together at NESIT and build things! NESIT Makerspace in Meriden Connecticut is having another open house on Wednesday.

Work is going along nicely on the clean-room for classes with all of the molding up, base, case, foot, and toe. Next up is gap-filling and painting everything for a seamless look.

And the Onion Omega 2 will be making it’s way to our IoT electronics drawer. Please toss it on a breadboard and see what you can make it do.
